About Courageous People Partners

Laura Shipp

Back in 2016 a respected senior colleague told me I was courageous and it subsequently emerged as one of my top strengths through personality profiling... it has stayed with me ever since and inspired me to set up Courageous People Partners two years later!

I am Laura Shipp BA (Hons), PG Dip HRM, Dip Clin Hyp NLP Coach, ACIArb a qualified practitioner and consultant and the founder of Courageous People Partners a professional and personal development company.

I am based just outside Ilminster from my home therapy room and from Beaux Health & Wellbeing in Taunton every Tuesday between 3pm and 7pm.  I work with clients across Somerset and Dorset as well as nationwide via Skype.

Courageous People Partners offer a range of services.  These include:

  • Coaching
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Professional Development
  • Psychometrics
  • Holistic Wellbeing

I often combine psychometrics, mediation, NLP, hypnotherapy and coaching to get the best for my clients.  By understanding your concerns and challenges, it is my role to support and enable you to be the best version of yourself by using your skills, resources and own thinking.  The flexibility of my services means I can design bespoke programmes tailored to your specific needs.

I am great at building rapport and being able to dance in the moment, challenging clients often with humour to dig deeper and achieve clarity of purpose and goals.  I am passionate about personal and professional development and have confidence in the courage and determination of the people I work with to find and apply their own solutions.  Change is often rapid, and I love seeing my clients have that instant light bulb moment.

I come from a learning, leadership, talent and organisational development background with 16 years' experience in a number of complex organisations and sectors (financial services, technology, energy and construction).  I have a successful track record of implementing talent governance arrangements, designing assessment and development programmes, and delivering organisational change initiatives.  I draw on this experience in my consultancy work with organisations.

I am a volunteer career & life coach with Shaw Trust and mentor with the Women's Utilities Network.

I am a registered hypnotherapist with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council, licentiate member of the British Institute of Hypnotherapy & NLP; professional member of the Association for NLP with a clinical diploma in hypnotherapy & NLP coaching (trained by Phil Parker creator of the Lightning Process).  A member of the International Coach Federation and associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.  Student member of the Kinesiology Association and the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners.  A British Psychological Society accredited psychometric test user and CIPD qualified previously holding chartered member status with the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.  I hold enhanced DBS and first aid certifications.  I am fully insured and receive supervision.

I am committed to my own development - I am currently working towards my master practitioner certificate in NLP, coaching & clinical hypnotherapy.  I hold an anatomy and physiology qualification; I am also training in systematic kinesiology and nutritional therapy.  It is my goal to offer additional holistic wellbeing services to my clients in the future.

Throughout my career I have been privileged to work with some incredible personal and professional development specialists, such as, occupational psychologists and executive coaches.  I also have a strong network of holistic therapists.  I now proudly partner with these specialists and other providers to offer you or your organisation a varied, flexible and high-quality service.
